By P. Rudy
I never thought I needed a battery operated recip saw until I worked with a plumber friend who had one. Remember that its not a corded sawzall. If I had 4 hours of demo work, i would still use a corded recip saw. But that is not what this guy is really made for. It sure is handy when you need to notch a joist or two or three, trim a sole plate, demo dwv and even demo a few pieces of black pipe. I keep it with me when doing elect and plumbing for that occasional use. Bought it because it uses the same Litheon batteries as my big Bosch drill. Plus it uses the BOTH of the Litheon batteries, the fat pack and the slim one. It had no problem cutting 2" steel galv pipe with battery to spare.
This is a precision tool - very precise variable speed and the the twist on blade insertion is a breeze. And, with the battery installed, great balance. can used one handed. Highly recommended

By Justin R. Hyde
I've used this for building my deck and for cutting down and chopping up old iron railings. With the correct blade it cuts through steel and wood quickly. For example I had 12 4 x4 PT posts to trim on my deck frame and it took me less than an hour in total and the battery still had charge at the end.
I saw comments about vibrations, but this is a recip saw, so at times it's going to vibrate as you're often cutting with little to rest on and the blade is moving at high speed with considerable force - don't blame vibration on this tool, it comes with this type of tool! The whole point of this saw is that you can take it the job rather than having to take the job to the saw.
I've a number of other bosch 18v tools so already have 2 batteries so at $99 this was excellent value. The other Bosch 18v cordless tools are also great tools - so I'd recommend this tool and the range to anyone.

This is a powerful beast, like others of its ilk. It is a little lighter than one would expect and very easy to handle. It is the only power tool I have bought so far that my wife is not afraid to use. She loves using it to prune bushes and other medium size yard demolition jobs that are too big for hand tools and too small for a chain saw. I used it to cut up an old fibreglass tub/shower surround. It cuts wood and fibreglass like butter. Have not tried it on metal yet, but expect it will perform great. Shipping was timely even with free Super Saver shipping. Thanks Amazon. I am using Bosch DareDevil blades with it. They are terrific. Unfortunately Bosch does not have a suitable plastic blade case for larger than 6" blades, but a pencil box from a school supply store looks like it will work great for the blades. This saw is built very rugged, as are my other Bosch cordless tools. Looking forward to my next demolition project. Bosch tools are awesome.
