By G. D. Cremer
This set is a particularly good value, as both tools are useful and well made. The drill is light, powerful and VERY handy - strong enough to tackle most everyday work. I've use it for drilling, mixing paint (gallons and quarts), wire-brushing patio furniture, and drilling in wood. It's one of the few electric tools that I don't bother to put away in its case when I'm done with a job - it has a bracket on my garage pegboard just to keep it handy.
The reciprocating saw is also a very, very good tool. It's not really heavy-duty enough to be my only recip saw, but I could see it as a primary saw for plumbing or electrical work, because battery life is actually pretty good - easy enough for near continuous use if you had to and had two batteries and charger available for the job -- and even more so because it's compact with its multi-position (three, actually) handle, so it can fit pretty much anywhere (and in places where a corded sawzall won't). It's light, compact, powerful, and has a good, bright, well-postitioned LED.
Both of these tools are well made and suitable for serious or pro use. Battery life is excellent, and all of the 12V Max tools (of which I have several) are light and compact (even by 12v standards). In many ways, these tools have set a new benchmark for 12V cordless tools in general. Build quality is solid, and while I only have about a year of use with both of these, they have both given great service. On the harder-to-quantify side, both feel "sweet" in my hand - sturdy without feeling the slightest bit clunky or crude; light and maneuverable without feeling the slightest bit flimsy or "cheap". Overall I rate them both very high in value, particularly given their relatively low cost in this combination deal.
All in all, both very good tools for serious DIY or pro user.

I think these tools are great for the price. They have good power and what I like is they are very light. The led light on the front is a big help.
